Welcome back to Open Metalcast, bringing you the best in Creative Commons licensed metal music. Recently we got the chance to speak with Benjamin Soubeille. Benjamin is a man of many hats. He’s one half of the the band Sanctuarii, and has a solo project: “Megaptere”. On top of that, he’s founded his own record label: Open Metal Records (no relationship to this podcast), with the goal of releasing Creative Commons licensed metal music. We spoke about the Open Metal Records label, his musical projects, and the future of the Open Metal Records label.

We’d like to thank Benjamin for taking the time to talk with us. Learn more about Open Metal Records at their website: http://openmetalrecords.weebly.com.

Open Metalcast Episode #61: Instrumetalcast #7

Things have been a little busy around the Open Metalcast compound, so this episode is actually comprised of tracks I was hoping to put together for the next Instrumetalcast episode. Hopefully this will satiate your primal lust for Creative Commons music, and the hunger for another Instrumetalcast with one combined episode. And while these songs have been in my backlog for a while, they’re by no means back-burner material, with the latest by Cloudkicker, Depths, The Multiverse Concept, Judd Madden, and a whole slew of instrumental music for you to enjoy. Shownotes follow:

Please support the bands in this show! Buy a T-Shirt, head to the shows, or use your savings from Black Friday and Cyber Monday to shower them with gifts. Whatever you can do to help these bands keep making music, please do it!

60 episodes. 60 seconds in a minute. 60 minutes in an hour. What does it mean? I’m not sure, but I do know this is the 60th episode of Open Metalcast, and it will spin your ear drums around like a record player on 78rpm. We’ve got brand new music from Samsara, Manuscriptum, Born of the Stars, as well as The Canyon Observer, and more music from Atsphear, Era Vulgaris, and Leka. Plus we dig into the Jamendo vaults and find some Nippercreep to funk things up a bit. Forget saving daylight, just use that extra hour you got from Daylight Saving Time and give yourself an hour listening to the finest Creative Commons music the net has to offer. And be sure to make a copy for your friends, and follow the links after the break:
